How does a virtual membership for a coworking space work?!
We’re so glad you asked! A virtual membership is for people who want to be a part of the Kindred community, but who are unable to work from our space on a regular basis. Perhaps you're not in a traditional desk-bound profession, or you have a physical bricks and mortar store or business but still want the camaraderie of being part of our community. Through a virtual membership, you are still able to share and learn from other start ups, self employed individuals and the community here at Kindred.
Virtual Member Benefits
You can join Kindred as a virtual member and access many of the benefits our coworking members have - the most significant of which is the networks and connections that are naturally developed within Kindred. In smaller communities like Mangawhai, those relationships are so valuable in growing a business. We aim to foster and support that in a way that feels natural and fun.
Fortnightly friday Drinks
Every fortnight we have member only drinks here at Kindred. Super casual, nothing formal - just bring something to drink and catch up for a chat and a laugh.

The social aspect of coworking is so important for the connections, support and friendship. It’s inspiring to be around likeminded people, and great to connect to other business owners and creatives in the area.

As well as free member only events, we host special events throughout the year; workshops, trainings and event evenings. As numbers will often be limited, members will have first option on tickets before they are open to the public.

Monthly coffee and CROISSANTS
Each month, we have a members only breakfast of coffee and croissants to meet up, chat and brainstorm ideas and challenges we’re working on.
Our members encounter similar challenges and obstacles across diverse industries. These get-togethers enable us to throw some topics on the table and watch the magic happen as people's different backgrounds offer interesting and unexpected perspectives on an issue.
Held on the first Tuesday of every month, this is a free event for Kindred members only (both virtual and coworking).

We hold regular events and workshops throughout the year, and our members are always our first port of call to share their expertise and promote their services. This is a great opportunity to position yourself as the expert in your industry.
Use our mailing address
Many services (like email newsletters) require you to display a mailing or business address on content you send. Great if you have a physical location, not so great if you work from home. If needed, you are able to list our address as your business address to protect your privacy and add a layer of professionalism to your business.

Rates
Prices are exclusive of GST. We offer special rates for multiple memberships if you would like a partner or employees to join. Plans are available as an annual payment or 12 monthly payments, and are valid for one full year from the date you join. Once we have your details, we'll send you the event schedule for the next meet up. Looking forward to it!

Q&A
Do you have a one member per industry policy?
No, we don’t. We allow members from similar industries or businesses to join. We think this is a great opportunity to connect with someone who understands your wins and challenges or your particular industry.
How long are memberships valid for?
The virtual membership is valid for one year from the date you join us. You can either pay as one annual payment, or break this up over 12 monthly payments. Please note that memberships are unable to be cancelled or refunded before the year is up.
I’m a member, but I’m not going to make the next event. Can I send my partner/employee/friend instead?
In short, no. We offer individual memberships or group memberships via our business plan. If a group membership is chosen, members must be named upon signing up. Member substitutions are not allowed.
Can I cancel my membership?
No, we don’t offer refunds or early cancellations. But of course, you can choose whether you rejoin once your year is up.
I’m considering joining as a full member but am not quite ready yet. Can I be a virtual member in the interim?
Yes, if you sign up for an annual virtual membership and decide to become a full member at any time during that year, we will credit the value of your remaining virtual membership against the value of your new membership plan. The credit will be rounded to the nearest full month remaining.
What if I’m not on facebook?
You’ll miss out on joining the members only Facebook group which would be a shame! We use that as an easy way to keep members updated on different events. However, if you’re not on Facebook, let us know and we’ll be sure to keep you updated with events via email.
