Kindred is a workspace set in a private orchard in Mangawhai Village. It’s quiet when you need to focus, social when you want a conversation, and a whole lot better than the kitchen table.
Bring your laptop and choose how you work. Hot desks, standing desks, soft seating, or a beanbag under the trees — switch it up depending on your mood. If you prefer a permanent setup, we have dedicated desks where you can leave your screens, files, and the comfortable chaos of your own workspace exactly as you left it.
The internet is ultrafast fibre — enough bandwidth for back-to-back video calls without a hiccup. We’ve got two kitchenettes stocked with tea and french press coffee. There’s a soft seating area for informal client meetings or just getting away from your screen for ten minutes. And when the weather’s good, the outdoor space and surrounding garden are perfect for getting some time in the sun.
We’re open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm. Members on a full-week or six-month plan get a key for 24-hour access — early starts, late finishes, weekend sessions, whatever suits your rhythm.
Casual coworking
No commitment needed. If you want a distraction-free workspace for a day or a week — whether you’re visiting Mangawhai, testing the waters, or just need a change of scene — grab a casual pass. You’ll have access from 8:30am to 5:30pm with tea and coffee on us. Prices are exclusive of GST.

Need more than one day? Perhaps you're visiting Mangawhai or just want the flexibility to join us when you need to. You'll have access from 8:30am - 5:30pm each day, and can enjoy all the tea and coffee you want while you’re with us. Casual days to be used within two months.
Coworking Plans
If Kindred is becoming your regular office, a plan gives you better rates and the rhythm of a consistent workspace. Choose between a month-by-month plan or a six-month commitment at a lower rate. Prices are exclusive of GST.
Monthly Plans (hot desk)
Three days per week - $299 p/m
Full week - $440 p/m
If you want to join us regularly, but aren't ready to commit to a six month plan, this is for you. We’ll be your office away from home; a creative and vibrant place to get focused and be around inspiring people.
Six month Plans (hot desk)
Two days per week - $240 p/m
Three days per week - $260 p/m
Full week - $399 p/m
Permanent Desk
Full time desk - $520 p/m
On a six month plan
Your desk, just the way you like it. This plan is the perfect bridge between working from home and leasing your own office space. You get the professionalism of a space to work and meet clients at a fraction of the cost. You’ll receive a desk to call your own, a lockable drawer and a key for after hours access.
Spouse Plan (hot desk)
Shared full time plan - $480 p/m
On a six month plan
Perfect for a couple who both require a coworking space (hot-desking), but want to share the cost of a plan. You and your spouse can split a full time plan - you can come and go as you please and you'll get a key for after hours use. Please note that as you're sharing one plan, only one person can use the office at a time.

What’s Included
Hot Desk
If your laptop is all you need to get to work, hot desks are for you. You can choose where you sit each day - switch between a normal desk, a standing desk, the soft seating area or even a beanbag under the trees in the orchard.
Permanent Desk
If you like to have a space to call your own, or if you want to personalise your workspace with screens, a permanent desk is ideal for you. You are able to set up your desk how you like it, and leave everything there ready for the next day. We will provide you with a lockable drawer to keep sensitive documents secure. As part of your membership, you’ll also have ability to use our address for mail.
Tea, Coffee and Kitchenette
We have two kitchenettes (with bar fridges) and all the business fuel (aka. coffee) you need. We supply a range of teas and french press coffee, and you can either bring lunch in or enjoy the local cafes down the road.
Soft Seating Space
This is a great place for a casual meeting with clients, or to just take a break from your screen and relax. We also have a casual outdoor space to enjoy the sun and surrounding garden.
Ultra Fast Fibre Internet
With so many of us using video conferencing to meet with clients and colleagues these days, this is essential!
24 Hour Access
For those on a full week and six month term, you’ll be provided with a key for after hours access. If you want to start a little earlier, work a little later or pop in on the weekend, you are more than welcome to.
Orchard to Office
This deserves a heading of its own! Kindred is set in a private, well established orchard in a quiet area of Mangawhai Village. It’s a beautiful space to work and still feel connected to the outdoors.
Networking and Events
Starting and running a business is equal parts rewarding, challenging and exciting. Working remotely can give great flexibility, but can feel a little lonely without the camaraderie of the office environment.
It’s important to connect with people who understand and relate to the journey you’re on. Being able to share knowledge, celebrate wins and give support when needed is a huge bonus of the Kindred community.
