How does a social membership for a coworking space work?
Not everyone needs a desk. But most people running a business, freelancing, or working for themselves could use a community around them.
A social membership is your way into the Kindred community without a coworking plan. Maybe you run a physical business and don’t need a desk. Maybe you only cowork occasionally. Maybe you just want to be around people who understand what it’s like to back yourself. Whatever the reason, you’re welcome here.
In a community like Mangawhai, the relationships you build through Kindred are genuinely valuable — in business and beyond. A social membership keeps you connected to all of it.
Social Member Benefits
You can join Kindred as a social member and access many of the benefits our coworking members have - the most significant of which is the networks and connections that are naturally developed within Kindred. In smaller communities like Mangawhai, those relationships are so valuable in business. We aim to foster and support that in a way that feels natural and fun.
Special Members Coworking Rates
If you would like to book a coworking day, you’ll be able to access our reduced Kindred member rates for both coworking and bookings of of our meeting room - The Shed.
Members Only WhatsApp Group
This is a great way to stay connected to other businesses, freelancers and creatives in the area. You can ask questions, get help when you need it, share ideas and keep updated with our member only events and happenings at Kindred.
Monthly Drinks Evening
Each month on a weekday we get together for member drinks either at Kindred or at one of our favourite local spots. Super casual, nothing formal - just an opportunity to catch up for a chat and a laugh.

Monthly Coffee and Croissants
Each month, we meet for a members-only morning tea of coffee and croissants to chat and brainstorm ideas and challenges we’re working on. A moment of togetherness, allowing for a light, casual catch-up, and an opportunity to share stories and experiences.
First Option on Special Events
As well as members-only events, we host special events throughout the year; workshops and event evenings. As numbers will often be limited, members will have first option on tickets before they are open to the public.
Use Our Mailing Address
Many services (like email newsletters) require you to display a mailing or business address on content you send. Great if you have a physical location, not so great if you work from home. If needed, you are able to list our address as your business address to protect your privacy and add a layer of professionalism to your business.
Rates
You can sign up monthly or annually for a 10% discount, and you can cancel at anytime. Prices are exclusive of GST. Once you’ve signed up, we'll send you a welcome pack. Looking forward to having you join us!

No, we don’t. We allow members from similar industries or businesses to join. We think this is a great opportunity to connect with someone who understands your wins and challenges or your particular industry.

The virtual membership is valid for one year from the date you join us. You can either pay as one annual payment, or break this up over 12 monthly payments. Please note that memberships are unable to be cancelled or refunded before the year is up.

Yes, you can end your social membership at any time.

Yes, if you sign up for an annual social membership and decide to become a full member at any time during that year, we will credit the value of your remaining social membership against the value of your new membership plan. The credit will be rounded to the nearest full month remaining.
